I’d like to contribute something to you that is extremely important to me, which I’m sure you can understand or relate to. Having low self-esteem has been a problem for me since I was a child. I’m not sure where my low self esteem stems from, other then it came from the household as a child; possibilities for me are:

You may have experienced different or more childhood causes of low self esteem. Our achievements are very important also. When they work hard then fail its very hard on them, especially if they have loved ones that ridicule or worse don’t recognize the achievement. At first it starts out as a small sore, but over time it becomes emotional cancer. These are a few of the childhood causes of Low self esteem, and in the end we grow up, and carry these into our personalities. Most of us end up wasting years away in misery before we do anything about it, if we do anything at all! While we waste years away in misery we are afraid to take chances that are need in advancing in our careers.
This is why Low self-esteem seemed to discourage me from doing a lot of things I desired to do in my life. This resulted me entering into despair, and it also put me in a position were I felt like I could not say anything to people (family, other workers), because it made me look weak in front of them. I knew people didn’t confide in people that didn’t confide in themselves; in essence I was afraid of losing credibility as a professional. I may not have lost all credibility but I lost my full potential for a few years and with that I lost years (time). Don’t Waste Your Valuable Time Away, Take Some Action, Once That Time Is gone You Cant Get It Back! Use whatever means given to you.

I went to counseling on a few occasions for self esteem issues, which lead to group therapy on a couple occasions. After a few years of individual on and off counseling; I Learned that it had to be from my past as a child growing up; so I went to my doctor for other solutions or options. The doctor thought it would good to try medications, and to do follow-ups. The medication seemed to work for some of the time, but I was feeling like a zombie most of my time; this was no way to exist for me. The medication would only make you forget your self-esteem and all the issue that went with it; you could say the meds helped mask the real issues that I needed to face. I decided to remove myself from the medication and live the way I did before, and see if I could beat my low self-esteem on my own.
A Better diet and exercise always helps, but it wasn’t what I was quite looking for. It seemed to help for a very short period of time. About an hour after that work out you feel that natural high, that’s when I would feel good. The ultimate question is; can I Beat Low Self Esteem On My Own?

If you continue to speak negative it will continue the low self-esteem pattern. Remember that there are people that love you, and perhaps rely on your well-being. Remind them that you love them. This enforces that connection of emotional support, and they will want to do it even more.
Don't put yourself down. Treat yourself with respect and compassion. Write down all the good things you have done in your life and read them out load, several times a day to remind yourself. Write down at least 10 items. Also when you go over each of those items remember and think about what you were doing at the time of those good memories.
Try to be around people that have a positive influence on you. Negative people will just make you feel negative.
By this time you may have stopped doing things you use to like doing. Try to engage in a simple activity you enjoy even if it's non-committing. The idea is to get you out of the house socializing with people and getting that self-esteem up.
